The Torquay Chamber of Commerce applauds the news of the Dementia Day Care Centre and wishes Bridie Moorehouse the best of luck with the venture and we will do all that we can to help promote and support this fantastic venture.
The Torquay Chamber of Commerce arranged an inspirational talk on Dementia, which was held in the offices of Boyce Hatton on 12th February. The talk was given by Maureen Chivers, a Dementia Friend, and she also discussed what was involved in becoming a Dementia Friends Champion.
The Chamber Chair, Susie Colley, later undertook this training and is now also a Dementia Friends Champion. Susie is very happy to come and talk to anyone who feels they or their staff would benefit from learning more about how to be involved in our campaign to help Torquay become a dementia friendly town.
If you would like to discuss this further, please email:
firstname.lastname@example.org or phone Susie Colley on 01803 314600 .
Some people have already benefited from this:
“The dementia training was extremely rewarding, enlightening and a must for anyone in any business.
I learnt so much about how dementia affects people’s perceptions and how my business can change a few simple things to help those with dementia.
It was an hour well spent !”
