The Torquay Chamber of Commerce worked with Bridie Moorhouse in 2019 and was influential in introducing her to Rowcroft Hospice where the Dementia Day Care Centre is now based.
The Chamber continues to support the work that she and so many others do with this venture and we will do all that we can to help promote and support this fantastic venture.
The Chamber Chair, Susie Colley, undertook a days training and is now also a Dementia Friends Champion. Susie is very happy to come and talk to anyone who feels they or their staff would benefit from learning more about how to be involved in our campaign to help Torquay become a dementia friendly town.
If you would like to discuss this further, please email:
firstname.lastname@example.org or phone Susie Colley on 01803 314600 .
Some people have already benefited from this:
“The dementia training was extremely rewarding, enlightening and a must for anyone in any business. I learnt so much about how dementia affects people’s perceptions and how my business can change a few simple things to help those with dementia.
It was an hour well spent !”
