It may be of interest to you that the Chamber has been busy during lockdown; helping members with applications and liaising with the council.
We have just taken advantage of a three-month offer of the benefits with the Plymouth and Devon Chamber of Commerce. There is a wealth of information available through the Devon Chamber and while some of it is available through our own members there may be some specific support or route to help that may be of interest. We would be very interested to learn about your experience if you take advantage of any of the benefits on offer. Please view the documents at the bottom of this page for more information.
In addition, we have, in the last few days, agreed on an “umbrella” networking group between the Brixham and Paignton Chambers and the Torbay Business Forum. The Torbay Business & Chambers Network will be undertaking “virtual” meetings until such time as we can resume meeting in person. The purpose of this new group is to help communicate with the TDA and council in a more effective manner. All three Chambers within the bay will still work independently but join forces with the TBF presenting a united front. Maureen Frost, one of our members will be co-ordinating the Social media events and networking sessions with “break out “rooms with specific topics”. If there are any concerns you have, please let us know.
The Torquay Chamber is pleased to report that we have helped expedite the discretionary grants for several businesses from water-based tourist businesses to web-based/tourist design agencies.
